ROCK!!! That would be the word of the day while developing this undocumented wall near Table Rock in North Carolina. Wes and Ben were by no means the first people to explore this wall. It’s near [...] After an unfortunate hiatus from climbing I finally got back out there this weekend for some ice climbing on Highway 215 in North Carolina. It was my first time ice climbing in NC and it was some gold ol’ stress free fun. The approach is non-existent considering you are belaying from the [...] Bumble Bee Buttress is by far my favorite 5.8 route at Linville Gorge. The route is 3 pitches of solid 5.8 climbing followed by a relatively breezy 5.5 scramble out. Like most climbs at Linville Gorge the approach is an adventure in and of itself. Mostly a third class down scramble with a touch of fourth [...] North Carolina is known for its lack of sport climbing and its abundance of friction climbing. North Carolina is definitely not known for its crack climbing, yet somehow Rumbling Bald has been blessed with four amazing, moderate splitters all within a 100 feet of each other. If you have ever wanted to see what 5.12c offwidth climbing was then here is a great video of a Kris “odub” Hampton playing on Hidden Dragon in Red River Gorge. The line starts with an offwidth roof that you have to pull some sick moves to get up over.
